Building Back Better: Towards a Disability Inclusive, Accessible & Sustainable Post Covid-19 World

The subject line of this article is the theme for the 2020 International Day for Persons with Disabilities which will be commemorated on 3rd of December. This theme resonates with the work that we are doing as Thisabilityhub Zimbabwe.

As a hub we have designed an African solution for an African problem. We have formulated an online platform for all things disability accessible and inclusive. Though still in beta testing phase the platform will ensure that people with disabilities will now be able to access information about accessible spaces, accessible services and disability centric products & services from anywhere at anytime. Soon we will also be introducing an online store of products and services offered by people with disabilities as a way of creating markets for them. Over and above that we hope to tell positive stories about disability through our platform.

Thisability Hub is an organisation that has an inclusive model of work. The founders of the hub are all persons with disabilities who understand disability due to life long experience and training on the diverse needs of people in the cluster. We are also working with several other people who do not have disabilities themselves however they are experts in their various fields. No man is an island! Our focus is on the individual, as we believe that each person with a disability is not exactly the same as the next person with a disability. We hope our platform will meet your requirements as an individual.
