The appointment came after the realisation by founders of the hub that there are 2 senators that represent persons with disabilities in the senate though there is no representation in the lower house of assembly, appointment of which would require a constitutional amendment.

Hon. Mhona has committed himself to extensively championing the creation of disability inclusion and empowerment legislation at a national level. While in his constituency with the aid of Thisability Hub, he will formulate sustainable development projects for persons with disabilities.

Born and bred in Mutandiro Village under Chief Mutekedza in Chikomba district, Hon Mhona is the Member of Parliament for Chikomba Central Constituency. Professionally Honourable Mhona holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Nottingham Trent in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Bcomm in Marketing Degree and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) which he recently obtained from UNISA. Hon. Mhona also holds a Diploma in Banking (IOBZ)  and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Zim (AIOBZ).

Apart from being a Member of the Zimbabwe Parliament, Hon Mhona is also the current Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance and Economic Development, he is also Treasurer for African Parliamentarians Network on Development Evaluation (APNODE), Committee Member of African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) and Committee Member of African Parliamentary Network on Illicit Financial Flows & Trade (APNIFFT).

Personally Hon F.T Mhona is a very compassionate person who believes in servant leadership and is very keen in working with people in vulnerable groups.

We as a team would like to welcome Hon Mhona to Thisability Hub and we hope to work together for the good of people with disabilities in Zimbabwe.
